   Welcome Audi Enthusiasts!!

Teen Driving Clinics at Dakota County Technical College

Do you have a teenage driver in your household?  Unsatisfied with "the standard" driver education program?  Want to give your teenager, life saving driving skills by getting them behind the wheel and learning the true capabilities of a car and how to manage them?  Then this is the program for you!!  Nationally sponsored by Shell and locally sponsored by Carousel Audi and Maplewood Audi.  Our staff of professionally trained driving instructors will give your teenager personalized driving instruction for a whole day.  Click the "Teen Clinics" link to the left for more information and on-line registration.  Let us help make your teenager a better, safer, more confident driver.

We have quite a few openings left for our clinic on Sunday, July 27th.  Please click here for driver registration for July 27th.

2008 Event Schedule

We have updated our event schedule for the 2008 season.  All events and dates are subject to change.  Please click on the "Events" link to the left.  We just added an Adult Driving Clinic at DCTC on August 17th and a late summer BBQ at Hyland Lake Park Reserve (Bloomington).

2nd Annual Summer BBQ at Hyland Lake Park Reserve - Sunday, August 24th

This was such a wonderful event last year so we decided to make it annual.  Please join us for our 2nd annual BBQ at the Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington, MN.  We will have food, beverages, a car concourse (Audi's of course), games for the kids, and plenty of other exciting things to do.  More details to follow.  Save the date and bring the whole family for a day of fun.  All are welcome.

Board of Directors Update

The GLQC Board of Directors, during its February 21st, 2008 meeting, approved the formation of eight committees to help with the activities needing to be done by the club.  This is very exciting news and will allow for more members to get involved with club activities.  Here is a list of the committees and their chairs as we know them so far:

Development / Fund Raising Committee: interim chair = Mary Ann McCauley

Driver Education Committee: chair = Louis Zachary

Driving Event Committee: interim chair = Keith Anderson

Social Events Committee: chair = Barb Weernink

Marketing / Communications Committee: interim chair = Mary Ann McCauley

Technology Committee: chair =

Membership Committee: chair = Patrick Knoll

Policies / Procedures Committee: chair =

As you can see, we still have some holes to fill regarding our committees.  Please, if you are interested in volunteering and have not already been in contact with a board member, please contact Mark Gottwalt via e-mail.  We are running a bit behind on getting these committees established.

Helmet Sponsorship Program
We have purchased twenty six new Snell 2005 helmets to replace our aged supply of Snell 1995 helmets which were originally donated from National when they had a helmet sponsorship program back in 1996.

Here's how it works: By donating $100.00, an individual or company can furnish a decal to be put on one of these new helmets, or you may sponsor a helmet anonymously if you prefer.

We believe by having these helmets available to first time participants makes it much easier for these folks to join in and experience all that we offer at our Teen, Adult and Advanced Driving Schools.

To sign up with the Helmet Sponsorship Program, please click here to email Mary Ann.

Thanks for helping out and thanks for sharing the experience of the Club!
