Ice Driving – Jan. 11 Recap

The day started off a bit dull and overcast, but by afternoon it was perfect. Salah Khuhro took home the bragging rights for fastest, non-studded car, while an old VW “Rat” with seriously studded tires, took home the fastest time. Most improved came from a persistent Porsche 944 (driven by Max) who shaved over 25 seconds off his frist run time.
Besides being brave and a bit out of their element, 3 Porsches found something in common on Sunday… they all crossed the finish line backwards, at least once. ;)
Everyone had a great time. Check out the photo links below.

The GLQC held a Wine Tasting Social on Thursday, December 11. About 14 members experienced a variety of wines from various regions. The New Hope Golf Course clubhouse turned out to be a perfect venue. All had a great time relaxing before the hectic holiday season is upon us. Special thanks to Barb Weernink for organizing such a wonderful event. We look forward to doing more of these in the future.

The exercises are great fun and tough at the same time. For example, it is a challenge to blast down the course and be expected to brake hard enough and at the right time in order to stop in a space no larger than the average garage. Or, imagine driving through the slalom course, weaving through cones feeling your car swaying as the weight shifts side to side.
